How to apply glitter and Complete Your Glitter Tattoo

Step-by-step glitter tattoo tutorial showing how to apply waterproof glitter glue with a lip wand bottle, pat on cosmetic glitter, remove excess, and peel away the stencil to reveal the finished design.

Once the stencil is securely applied to clean, dry skin and the clear transfer sheet has been removed, you’re ready to add adhesive and glitter.

Step 1 — Apply the Waterproof Glitter Glue Using a small applicator or brush, apply a thin, even layer of waterproof cosmetic adhesive inside the open areas of the stencil. Keep the glue within the stencil design and avoid applying an overly thick layer.

Step 2 — Let the Glue Become Tacky Wait a few seconds until the adhesive becomes slightly tacky. Do not allow it to dry completely before adding glitter.

Step 3 — Apply the Glitter Using a clean glitter brush, gently pat cosmetic-grade glitter over the adhesive. Press rather than sweep so the glitter adheres evenly and stays inside the design.

Step 4 — Build Your Colors For multi-color designs, apply one glitter color at a time. Start with lighter colors and move to darker shades to help keep the colors clean and defined.

Step 5 — Remove Excess Glitter Lightly brush away loose glitter around the stencil using a clean, dry brush. Avoid disturbing the glitter that is attached to the adhesive.

Step 6 — Peel Away the Stencil Carefully lift one corner of the stencil and peel it slowly away from the skin while the adhesive is still slightly flexible. This reveals the finished glitter tattoo with crisp edges.

Step 7 — Let It Set Allow the tattoo to fully dry before touching, covering, or getting the area wet.

  • Do not use alcohol or oils on the tattoo

  • Avoid scrubbing the area

  • Do not use body scrubs or abrasive body sponges over the area

Pro Tips

  • Less glue is more. A thin, even layer creates cleaner edges and dries more comfortably.

  • Pat, don’t brush, the glitter onto the adhesive.

  • Remove the stencil before the adhesive becomes completely hard for the cleanest outline.

  • Use only cosmetic-grade glitter and skin-safe cosmetic adhesive.

  • Do not apply over irritated or broken skin, and avoid the face and eye area.
